Aruba
I can't seem to get away from the Natalie Holloway case. Every time I think its gone it raises its ugly head with new information or new suspects, something to pull me back in. Is that a bad thing? Not at all. We should never forget what happened!
We as Americans have the shortest memory of any group of people ever. One of our own, was kidnapped and disappeared, was she murdered, you know she was. Did the Aruban govt protect one of its own? You know they did. Are they laughing at us? Absolutely!
Why are they laughing? Because the tourism from the good ole USA never stopped. We stopped for a short time and then right back at them. They got away with it and we, in effect, paid them for it.
So what do we do? We stop going to Aruba!!! As long as it did not affect the bucks coming into their little country they are not going to solve this case. Make it hurt, make everyone any where in the world realize that if you hurt one of ours, there will be repricussions.
Do other countries or groups of people remember things better than the USA? OF course, a lot of what is going on in the Middle East is being based on the Crusades, thats been close to a thousand years ago, alot of the cultual warfare you see on the news is based on events centuries old. Here in the USA we forget really fast. Most of us don't care to remember that one of the largest abusers of American Soldiers in WWII was Mitsubishi. They took the soldiers that survived the Battan Death March and used them as slave labor. Looking at all the new Mitsubishis driving around you would think it never happened. I say its time to stop and take stock of what we stand for. We should be standing up for our own. Its time we stood up for Natalie.

As such I would have thought you would have considered...
How is boycotting Aruba CONNECTED to finding out what happened to Natalee?
What, realistically, do you expect a boycott to ACHIEVE? Where are you applying pressure compared to where any result might come from? Is it direct, or hopelessly misdirected? Can the people actually being pressured *deliver* what you demand? If I hold a gun at *your* head can you tell me what *really* happened to Natalee?
The authorities in Aruba looked at what happened as a joke. They bungled that case from the start. They protected one of their own at the cost of justice for an American.
Do I care what happened to Natalie? absolutely!!!
You are correct, the people of Aruba cannot be pressured into telling what happened and probably never will, thats the sad part of it.
But what do we do? Reward that little country for not taking serious the murder of one of our country men? No, we show them and the rest of the world that when an American is murdered and its not taken serious then they are going to pay the consequences.
I never said to pressure them into finding Natalie, what I said was to let them know that we as Americans are not going to reward their incompetance or the protection they gave one of their own, whichever it was.
Until they can show its safe for Americans to go to Aruba and that justice is equal for everyone, including Americans then we boycott.
Rolls,
I just left your Natalee Web site. It was an eye opener. Its a shame you don't like open discussion. In fact on your site, you specifically state do not try to e-mail me.
What I find disturbing is a reference to Natalee being, "an uppermiddle class white girl from the south." You don't make this reference once but at least three times in one form or another. Does the fact that she is Upper Middle class, white or even from the south make her less eligible for justice? Or does it make her different from a poor black girl from the north? I think the only difference is that a poor black girl from the north probably would not be able to afford a trip to Aruba.
I will post your web site so that others can see the predjudice you have.

We all have opinions and thats what makes this country great. Too bad you don't want to hear anyone elses.
Thank you for posting the link so people can make up their own minds.
My essay is not another free-for-all blog or forum but a presentation of my expert consideration of the available material evidence as a contribution to the on-going debate. My "no mail" request is up-front, unlike most blogs that secretly censor posts and ban posters with differing opinions.
In this blog you have the means to argue the facts, yet instead attack me personally.
I welcome corrections of fact or civil disagreement; but not the clearly orchestrated torrent of hate mail, vile abuse, and death threats directed at my family and myself for presenting an alternative construction of the known facts.
I question the sanity of anybody e-mailing death threats to a forensic technician, who doesn't expect to shortly find themselves discussing the matter with your FBI.
Natalee's race, gender, and social position are all factors in this case and my mention of them must be considered alongside whole sites that assert Aruba is in the grip of a "Jewish conspiracy", or (paradoxically) that Dutch police are "dominated by Nazis", or the FBI is part of a cover-up.
We might forgive Beth Twitty emphatically claiming Natalee "didn't drink" when reading Lee Broughton's FBI statement of gross excess; but it is harder to explain and forgive Beth being party to Skeeters fabrication of Deepak's "confession" - now a matter of public record.
It is distressing to discover that Beth decided from day one to abandon any moral high ground and, as a Christian, that she was better served by false witness than the truth.
Joran may not be innocent, but your accusation of murder rests on the word of a proven serial liar. To this day there is not an iota of solid evidence that Natalee is even dead, much less a victim of crime.
If you have an alternative construction that explains the cell calls, ISP logins, and particularly the room keycard swipes, I'd love to read it.
You would be the first.
